A drone light show in Austin, Texas, celebrates the games and promotes the newest addition to the Halo family.
Sky Elements has teamed up with Giant Spoon for a drone light show promoting Paramount+’s new television series Halo, based on the hugely popular Xbox game about a warrior fighting against an invasion of aliens. The drone show was part of the South by Southwest (SXSW) Film Festival, conducted alongside a series of films premiering at the conference, and flown six times in different locations over a two-evening period.
For this drone light show, 400 fully customized drones feature iconic images and characters from the game series for 10 minutes. Some of the highlights of this show include the 300-foot tall Master Chief, a 3D M12 Warthog with spinning wheels and the Paramount and Halo logos. It also includes an active, scannable QR code that takes viewers to a website to watch the Halo series trailer and the countdown to the series premiere. The show stretched more than 600 feet into the night sky and was visible to downtown Austin, creating excitement and buzz locally and from news agencies across the country. The performance was even featured on the Today Show!
